Workplace communication workshops
Bring accessible, inclusive communication skills to your whole team.
Miscommunication doesn't just slow projects down. It quietly erodes trust, excludes team members, and costs more than most organizations realize. Our workshops help teams intuitively understand and build practical communication skills that make meetings, emails, and everyday interactions work better for everyone.
As speech-language pathologists, we are uniquely suited to tie the science of communication into practical, real-world strategies to build communication accessibility into your framework from the start.
why this matters
Every workplace communicates constantly: in meetings, emails, via messaging software, hallway conversations, and shared documents. But most teams have never been taught how to do it in a way that's clear, accessible, and inclusive of the full range of people they work with.
More than 27% of Canadians live with at least one disability, and many more navigate communication differences, from ADHD and dyslexia to speech, language, and neurological conditions. Not only were standard workplace communication norms not built with them in mind, these practices are often exclusionary and lead to increased frustration, decreased efficiency, and communicative confusion.
Teams that learn to communicate accessibly don't just support specific employees, they communicate better across the board. And once communication is streamlined, everything else falls into place.
Accessible communication is best applied upfront and as a foundational principle. Consider the ramp at the front of the building: it helps the individual with a wheelchair and the individual pushing a delivery cart. When communication works better for the whole team, it can reduce missed deadlines, disengagement, and turnover. It fosters connectivity and efficiency from the very first onboarding message.
what is communication accessibility?
Communication accessibility is the practice of designing how information moves through a workplace, be it written, spoken, or digital, so that employees with different communication needs and abilities can fully understand it and participate. That includes employees with disabilities (speech, language, hearing, vision, cognitive, or neurological), as well as employees who may be non-native English speakers, experience neurodivergence, chronic illness, or simply process information differently under workplace stress.
In practice, it covers things like:
Writing emails and policies in plain, jargon-free language
Structuring meetings so everyone can follow and contribute
Offering more than one way to receive or respond to information
Communicating clearly and specifically rather than relying on vague or idiomatic language
When done right, communication accessibility builds workflows that reduce the load for everyone.

Every workshop is tailored to your team's size, industry, and goals. This isn't a one-size-fits-all training.
Workplace communication is where we start, but it's not where our expertise ends. If your team has a specific communication challenge you'd like to explore, such as voice and presentation skills, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution, small talk and networking, communication for introverts or something else entirely, we'd love to hear about it.
If you have an idea, or a challenge your team keeps running into, tell us about it in the form below.
