Plus a mileage-based travel fee (typically up to $30, depending on distance)
Functional carryover, the ability to take what's learned beyond the session, is a key part of lasting progress. Community integration sessions practice skills directly in real-world environments, like libraries, coffee shops, and community centres.

cancellation & no show policy
One grace late cancellation or no-show is permitted.
After that, sessions cancelled or missed with less than 24 hours' notice are charged 50% of the scheduled treatment session rate, regardless of session type.
Direct billing
Please refer to your insurance company for your plan details as plans can vary across providers. Speech therapy services are often categorized under “Allied Health” or “Paramedical Services”.

WSIB
Cognicare offers speech therapy services funded under WSIB. You'll need a physician's recommendation and an active claim number before sessions begin.
Motor Vehicle Accidents (HCAI)
Clients referred after a motor vehicle accident are welcome. Cognicare will consult with the case manager and complete the necessary paperwork to initiate assessment, per the auto insurer’s requirements. MVA claims can't be direct billed, so sessions are paid at the time of service and submitted for reimbursement.

The Community Spot is a reduced-fee therapy placement, one space reserved at a time, for someone experiencing financial hardship who would otherwise be unable to access support.
